End of Financial Year Reset FAQ
1. We strongly suggest you perform a complete BACKUP of your system before performing
any of the following reset processing!
2. Perform the End of Month Resets prior to performing the End of Year Resets!
3. If you are running a Back Office System for cash registers or POS (Point of Sale) Units
then you must close off the figures for the last financial year before any July activity
takes place, including transmitting any July sales from the Register or point of sale
unit!
4. Run any necessary reports you need, (these will not be available after you run the
reset processing below)!
Items Flagged for Deletion
1. During the year you will have flagged any obsolete stock items, customers,
suppliers and/or representatives for deletion at the end of the financial year.
Note: These records are normally flagged for deletion, (instead of deleting them immediately),
so that any trading figures are retained until the end of the financial year.
2. To review records flagged for deletion run the Dead Stock Report, Dead Customer Report,
Dead Supplier Report and/or Dead Representative Report.
History Reports
1. Logon to the system using a Logon Date of the end of June for the current year,
eg 30/06/2001
2. Run the Stock, Customer, Supplier, Representative and Company History Reports.
Reset Processing - Functional Menu Format
1. Ensure you have Backed Up your system!
2. Logon to the system using a Logon Date of the end of June for the current year,
eg 30/06/2001
3. Run the Stock Yearly Reset from the Stock Menu.
4. Run the Customer Yearly Reset from the Customer Menu.
5. Run the Supplier Yearly Reset from the Supplier Menu.
6. Run the Accounts Yearly Reset from the General Ledger Menu
Reset Processing - Activity Based Menu Format
1. Ensure you have Backed Up your system!
2. Run the End of Year Reset from the End of Year Menu.
3. Run the Supplier Yearly Reset from the End of Year Menu
4. Run the Accounts Yearly Reset from the General Ledger Menu
Note: If you get the message "Facility not available" for End of Year Reset then try
searching for and running the Stock Yearly Reset and Customer Yearly Reset from
the Fastpath: prompt at the top of the menus.
General Ledger - To Perform Journal Entries for the Last Financial Year
1. Select Journal Entry from the General Ledger Menu.
2. Key in Y for Last Years Journal and press Enter.
3. Type in reason for Journal, tab down to Month and change to the required month,
eg 12 for June, then press Enter.
4. Key in your adjustment Debits and Credits.
Note: To check figures are correct simply print a Mtd Balance Sheet and/or
Mtd Profit and Loss Statement for the month you adjusted.
After you have completed the reset processing
1. Exit the system.
2. Perform a backup of the system. Suggested label "Start of Financial Year Backup".
3. Startup the system and logon with todays date.
